Help for Homeowners

Are you a Des Moines homeowner in need of exterior repairs such as roofing, water or sewer line replacements or foundation work?

Apply today for the Emergency Repair Loan Program. Homeowners must live in the home for at least one year prior to applying and meet U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s income guidelines listed below. Loans are forgivable if homeowners stay in the residence for five additional years.

Funded by the City of Des Moines’ Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and the Polk County Housing Trust Fund matching dollars, the Emergency Repair Loan Program provides a deferred payment loan to low or moderate income homeowners.  CDBG is a federal program established in 1974 to support projects that provide decent housing and suitable living environments while expanding economic opportunities for low and moderate income persons.  Call 515.283.4184 for more information.
